Every meaningful change begins as an act of presence
We all began life with an extraordinary capacity to notice, to imagine and to do what we thought was right... Even when we were corrected... Multiple times...
One well-known longitudinal creativity study found that almost all young children demonstrate exceptionally high levels of divergent thinking, capable of discerning multiple outcomes and methods to complete simple tasks, yet those abilities appeared to decline dramatically with age. Its central question remains profoundly important: what happens to our imagination as we grow up?
Too often, we learn that success comes from finding the right answer rather than asking better questions and finding alternative routes to perhaps, an alternative answer. We become cautious instead of curious, consumers of ideas instead of creators of them.
The Presence Exchange believes imagination is far more than a pastime. It is our ability to visualise something that does not yet exist. It is how we imagine fairer communities and solve problems that have never been solved. How we invent, collaborate, innovate and create positive change.
An actor imagines a character.
A child imagines a story.
An architect imagines a building.
A scientist imagines a hypothesis.
An entrepreneur imagines a company.
A community imagines a better future.
What we do
We create opportunities to explore, question, create and reflect.
Our role is to facilitate and design learning experiences that develop independence, confidence and critical thinking.
Participants are encouraged to contribute ideas, challenge assumptions and take ownership to solve problems together.
Every session combines creative, practical activity with guided reflection, ensuring participants not only experience growth but understand how that growth happens and how to embed it into their everyday culture.
